Centre for International Environment and Development Studies, Agricultural University of Norway (Noragric, NLH)

Noragric's main purpose is to promote equitable development and community empowerment through generating and disseminating knowledge in agriculture and natural resource management for developing and transitional countries.  The principal focus with CBDC is on sustainable agriculture and biodiversity issues, food security, and community development through research, education and field assignments.

Noragric operates within a broad network of world-wide contacts, including active interaction between the Agricultural University of Norway and institutions in Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe.  It also maintains institutional co-operation with a number of academic and professional institutions throughout the world.

Noragric has joined forces with the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research (NINA) and the  Chr. Michelsen Institute (CMI) in Bergen to establish the Norwegian Consortium for Development and Environment (NODE). Through its small but professional secretariat, NODE offers advisory services in a broad range of social and ecological disciplines.
